Way back in the early part of the Wammyville year, in the fall, Adi found this beautiful creature. We put it in our fancy bug keeper with food, sticks, and water. Then we hoped for the best.
I got this pic from Google because I couldn't find the pic we took on the day of the find.
We waited and waited for something to happen. One day the caterpillar was gone. We couldn't find any escape routes. When we dug deeper we found that it had made a cocoon securely attached to the bottom of the container.
O Wednesday morning I was checking on the tadpole and noticed we had a moth!!!
Those look like owl eyes.
This is what the underneath side looks like.
The moth even has camo that looks just like the leaves.
The cocoon was hard like we had poured Elmer's glue on it.
Look at the small hole where he/she emerged. We didn't have time to figure that out. We had to set it free and then protect it from Ollie.
