Take A Breath

I think when God was passing out gifts, He skipped over me when relaxation was being passed out.  I just can't get the hang of it.  I try really had to slow down to smell the roses but when I do there is always something on my mind, something that I think I must do.  Mark is always telling me to just let it go.  This summer I am going to try to start the 14 State Challenge where you hike a little bit in each of the 14 states that make up the Appalachian Trail...Georgia to Maine.  It may take me years to accomplish this little ditty on my bucket list but I hope to be able to block out all the stuff that clutters my mind and really enjoy the hikes and remember to stop and really take in everything that God has to offer.  Some say that hiking the Trail changes you.  They also so to hike your own hike.  I plan to do just that.  I started practicing yesterday...

I had a book and a quilt.  Sun warming my bones, farm noises, birds chirping, and the smells of peonies.  I closed my eyes and pretended to be hanging in a hammock on the AT.   I lasted about 10 minutes.  Guess that is as good a place to start as any.
