Some people don't like the dreariness of rain. I love it. My grandmother and I would always sit on the front porch under quilts and watch the storms as they rolled thru. I have never been scared of them. I love the way you can smell the rain even before it gets to you. I love the roll of thunder. Lightening fascinates me. Last weekend I was visiting my Dad and it started to rain. We were getting in the car and I saw these droplets on his juniper bushes. I have learned to have my camera within hands reach where ever I go. So standing out in his front yard in the rain I captured the rain. Just another way God tells us it is okay to slow down and enjoy what has been created.

Raindrops

Snow is one of my all time favorite things. I love how it feels outside. I love how it sounds when it is falling. I love how it changes things. I just love it! I think God gives us snow to try to make us slow down. Today we were out driving around looking for interesting snow shots. Little did we realize that we could have stayed in our own yard.

I was amazed that this shot cam out as well as it did. I can actually see a real snowflake.

There a kind of candy that I know I have seen at Cracker Barrel that look like crystals on a stick...that is what this branch looks like to me.

I got the idea that I could take pictures of snowflakes close up with my new camera. As you can see I still have a lot to learn about this camera.

I think these shots are pretty amazing. Snowflakes do look like the snowflakes that we see hanging from Christmas trees as ornaments. I plan to try this again and would love any suggestions anyone can give.
